As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanPress) recall, Tare became AC Milan's sporting director earlier this summer having been out of work since he left Lazio, a club that he spent most of his professional life at as a player and then as a director.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Massimiliano Allegri chose AC Milan in the summer 'out of love' rather than waiting for the Inter job. Ahead of a crucial summer, Milan chose to overhaul their management by hiring a new sporting director and head coach. Igli Tare was the man chosen for the former role, and he quickly accelerated to bring Allegri back to the club as Sergio Conceicao's replacement.
