Drama teacher Leslie Jones collaborated with social studies teacher Ra Alim Shabazz to create an annual showcase honoring Black History Month through art and civic engagement.
The program at Alexandria City High School combines theater, poetry, dance, and a 'black box enlightenment lecture series' to educate students about overlooked aspects of Black history. [ more ]
