Last month, the White Sox picked up their $20MM option on Luis Robert Jr. General manager signaled that the club planned on Robert being their starting center fielder in 2026. That has not stopped clubs from inquiring on his availability in trade talks, as Francys Romero of Beisbol FR reports that the Mets, Padres, and Pirates have expressed interest in acquiring Robert.
Ben Dinnery, an injury analyst, highlights that while there may be a decrease in the total number of hamstring injuries this season compared to 2023-24, the severity and duration of these injuries are increasing. Notably, more than half of the injuries have kept players sidelined for over 30 days, suggesting that although instances are fewer, the impact on player availability is more pronounced than before.
