Because, you know what? Trans people are people, and they deserve to have respect and protection under the law. And right now all the crap coming out of D.C. makes everyone feel less safe, and it's wrong.
The denial of the request by no means indicates a condoning of the conduct alleged in the referral; rather, it means that other considerations weigh against removal under these circumstances.
I kinda wish I hadn't put my folder up in front of my face but, whatever. You know, I was there. I mean, I just wrote a book about learning to laugh at yourself, so I'm pretty good at it.
