1 day agoWatch: Scotti scores brace for Milan Primavera including lovely free-kick
Filippo Scotti scored twice, including a stunning free-kick, to lead Milan Primavera to a 2-1 win over Napoli.
Explaining his decision before kick-off to recall him for the Premier League trip to Selhurst Park, Amorim reinforced that support. "Mason Mount is really smart," he said. "He gives us more possession. He is intense and he can score goals, so is one more player to be near the box." The remark showed incredible foresight as Mount sealed United's first victory at Palace since 2020 by drilling home what seemed to be a pre-planned free-kick move with skipper Bruno Fernandes from 20 yards.
I am very disappointed with the result. I'm very proud of my players. Both [sets of] players had to dig in to a level where there was nothing between the two. It was going to be decided by an individual error or a moment of magic. You cannot dominate here for 90 minutes; it is impossible. At the end of the game, I said we have to find a way to win these big matches.
"We were practising free-kicks the day before," said defender Tafari. "I looked at the top corner and, like magic, the ball ended up there. I was incredibly happy for him. "This guy's first three games - hang it in the Louvre! He earns a penalty, then gets an assist, then gets a goal. "I don't know what's going to happen next week! That's on him, but he's doing a phenomenal job and I love his energy."
