3 days agoUK-France travel: Eurostar orders double-deck trains for first time
The Alstom Avelia Horizon trains are 200m long with two decks - although double-decker trains are common in France they have never been used on UK railways, with the exception of a brief experiment in 1949. Eurostar's chief executive Gwendoline Cazenave told the BBC that she was "particularly proud to bring double-decker trains to the UK for the very first time", adding they would bring "exceptional comfort".
