The Labour government plunged into crisis after Epstein file revelations triggered resignations, police inquiries, and collapsing support for Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Case in point: Downing Street is racking up empty desks after Prime Minister Keir Starmer's director of communications and chief of staff departed amid a firestorm over Peter Mandelson, who was dismissed as U.K. ambassador to the U.S. due to his Epstein links. Earlier this month, London's Metropolitan Police announced an investigation into a former government minister over alleged misconduct tied to the Epstein files.
The prime minister is hoping to keep the focus of the visit on an influx of American investment into the UK, all while both his government and the Trump administration are plagued by scandals related to the paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. Overnight, Starmer announced the prospect of some £150 billion flowing into the UK from big US firms such as Blackstone and Palantir. As Starmer and Trump meet at Chequers - the prime minister's estate in Buckinghamshire - they also plan to sign a technology prosperity deal, touted as offering major investment by US tech firms in Britain, that will help to develop its AI capabilities.
I don't think my colleagues are happy about covering up for pedophiles, but that's what's happening. And it's so sick and twisted. The reason they're doing it is because they're terrified of President Trump's political machine, not just his legislative affairs folks are reaching out from the White House to every Republican member of Congress who might think about co-sponsoring this, Massie continued, adding: They're getting calls from the political machine that Donald Trump runs.
