Congress returned to Washington while Epstein files dominated headlines. Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that he was "giving serious thought to taking away Rosie O'Donnell's Citizenship," calling her "not a Great American" and including a distorted image of her face. Rosie O'Donnell reshared the post on Instagram with the caption "banishing me again? logan roy would be proud. im the distraction - EPSTEIN SURVIVORS are the reckoning and your gold lamé throne is melting. only rosie o'donnell." Trump previously wrote in June 2025 that he was "giving serious consideration" to removing her citizenship and suggested she should remain in Ireland. U.S. birthright citizenship is protected by the 14th Amendment, preventing lawful revocation.
With Congress back in town and the Epstein files again dominating the headlines, Donald Trump is ramping up the distraction campaign by targeting an old foe: Rosie O'Donnell. On Thursday night, Trump took to Truth Social to share that he is "giving serious thought to taking away Rosie O'Donnell's Citizenship," adding that, "she is not a Great American and is, in my opinion, incapable of being so." The post included a distorted image of O'Donnell's face.
Subscribing to the belief that Trump is using her as a way to distract from the Epstein headlines, O'Donell herself has since reshared the president's post to her Instagram alongside the caption, "banishing me again? logan roy would be proud. im the distraction - EPSTEIN SURVIVORS are the reckoning and your gold lamé throne is melting. only rosie o'donnell." This is not the first time Trump hasn't threatened to revoke O'Donnell's citizenship.
In a June 2025 post to Truth Social, he wrote, "Because of the fact that Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship. She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!" O'Donnell moved to Ireland shortly after Trump's election last year.
