Tech hiring is shrinking, entry-level opportunities are declining, and restructuring and layoffs are projected to intensify in 2026.
For months, leaders from Ford CEO Jim Farley to the Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell have sounded the alarm that AI could wipe out entry-level jobs. Now, newly released data suggests they could be right: Since ChatGPT's rise, job postings across the U.S. have fallen by about 32%, according to data from the Federal Reserve, as employers increasingly turn to AI tools and automation to boost efficiency.
Three years after removing its job listings feature, Facebook is bringing it back to users in the U.S., focusing on helping people find local jobs in entry-level, trade, and service sectors. Job listings, available to all users 18 years and older, can be found in a tab within the Marketplace section as well as in Groups and Pages. Users can filter and sort jobs by category, distance, and job type.
