It's been a few years since ChatGPT first appeared, and since then, the AI chatbot has continuously updated with new models, features, limitations, and plans. While there's a lot you can do for free, some tools and perks are reserved for paid tiers. OpenAI introduced the $20 monthly Plus plan to manage demand and guarantee access during busy periods. But now, it also has ChatGPT Go, a new low-cost plan for just $8 per month. OpenAI has also said that ads are coming soon in the US for the Go and Free tiers as part of early testing, while paid plans like Plus and Pro will stay ad-free.
To devise the updates, ChatGPT proactively looks at your chat history, your saved memories, your feedback about the AI, and any connected apps such as your calendar. Based on a collective stew of all that information, the updates appear as topical visual cards for you to scan or view in greater detail. You can tweak the details that Pulse provides to help it learn which information you find most useful and relevant.
Four years of product development in four days, for $200. That's a pretty hefty claim. But, to my astonishment, it's true. It's also a matter of perspective. The math that works for me might not work for you. Obviously, this is an AI story. The $200 is the ChatGPT Pro plan, to which I upgraded to get more cycles out of the OpenAI Codex programming-tuned AI model. The results can only be described as extreme.
