When we were coming up with the concept for our original show, we first came to the streets of New York City where I hid in a secret confession booth we set up in Midtown and asked women what they really want. Not just in a show, but in life. They shared some deeply powerful things. That insight helped us create our shows in Vegas, London and all over the world.
TORONTO - There's no criminal quite like the Roofman. The Sacramento-born burglar Jeffrey Manchester began his crime spree in Northern California in the late 1990s by cutting holes into the roofs of McDonald's franchises, robbing the safes while being shockingly polite to employees in the process. After hitting 40 stores across the country, he was caught and sent to jail in North Carolina, until he escaped and took up secret residence inside a Toys R Us, and then a Circuit City.
It's based on the stranger-than-fiction tale of Jeffrey Manchester, played by Channing Tatum, an ex-military father-of-three who just can't quite find his place in the civilian world. His old army buddy Steve (Lakeith Stanfield) reminds him of his particular skill for observation, urging him to put it to good use.
