Her practice uses clay to bring people together with the "therapeutic aspects of tactile making". She first came to ceramics during university, where access to the department allowed her to fall in love with the practice. And so, Ciara is deeply cognisant of the importance of supporting those who struggle to access a ceramics studio due to various social factors.

In order to create a unique visual language for the single, Julia embarked on a three-month-long project of handcrafting and painting 300 individual ceramic tiles to make up the music video frames, each with their own beautiful irregularities and imperfections in glaze. Structured in grids of twelve, these tiles were swapped out like puzzle pieces in the final stop motion, using zoetropes and evolving motifs to follow "the meditative rhythm of the song through repetition, noise, and texture", the artist says.

Inspired by the skylines of cities like New York and Hong Kong, these ceramic towers are playful, not precious, ready to evolve with your mood, flowers, or shelf space.

The collection of 17 mixed-media pieces showcases the transformation of flat paper into sculptural volume through a simple fold, highlighting the intersection of craft and materials.
