Caribbean Carnival is a vibrant cultural celebration originating as a form of resistance to colonialism that blends music, dance, and food.
"This is a positive event in our community. You have an incident that happens and it kind of mars the events in general but the fact is, overwhelmingly, the people come, they enjoy themselves, they go home, and that's it." Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox emphasized the carnival's significance and community spirit despite past violence.
The carnival brought together around 1,000 people for a fun-filled celebration, showcasing Caribbean traditions through costume-making, dance classes, and steel pan workshops that highlighted the culture.
