Founded in 2021 and based in Boston and Tel Aviv, Memcyco has built an agentless platform that proactively prevents brand impersonation and account takeover (ATO) attacks. Amid an increase in ATO attacks and AI-driven deception such as phishing, Memcyco aims to improve protections by infiltrating the attack timeline as it unfolds. It relies on covert, agentless anti-impersonation technology that provides organizations with visibility into both victim and attack behavior, to stop attacks before credential theft or fraud.

We know that at least 30% of Latinos in the United States use these groups because their phone numbers are local, starting with +1, says Roberta Braga, one of DDIA's founders and executive directors, in an audio message. The Institute focuses on the Latino community, which is why the study has this focus; it has nothing to do with Latinos being more vulnerable to falling for these types of scams, Braga explains.

Cybercriminals aren't just breaking into systems anymore; increasingly, they're breaking into identities. By impersonating trusted companies through look-alike domains, fake apps or cloned websites, attackers turn logos, tone and messaging into tools of deception. For communications and marketing leaders, this is a reputational flash fire that spreads faster than your crisis comms team can respond. And with generative AI making fake campaigns nearly indistinguishable from the real thing, brand impersonation has become one of the most under-recognized business risks today.
