Abingdon is easy to access just off Interstate 81. This little town has many charms-from its 20-block historic district to the 34-mile Virginia Creeper Trail. But solitude is the allure in this town and at this Airbnb; it's a place to unwind and relax with no agenda. Cohosted by For The Love of Upstate, a host with a collection of restored properties in the area, the listing promised a private in-home spa, thoughtful details with comfort at the helm, and stunning river views.

Whitetail Resort is located in Central Pennsylvania and is a legit hidden gem for skiers and snowboarders in the mid-Atlantic region. This ski resort gets seriously underestimated by many. I was travelling from one resort to another, and Whitetail was on the way to my next destination. I almost didn't go because I was on the road for two weeks straight, but I'm so glad I did-it's way better than I expected.

A high-confidence Friday afternoon through Saturday storm brings a solid shot of snow to much of New England, with improving snow quality as colder air filters in Friday night. Expect a brief period of denser, lower-elevation snow at the onset in the south and along the coast, then a trend to lighter, drier snow overnight as temperatures fall and snow-to-liquid ratios climb.

Home to Grand Teton National Park, world-class ski slopes, and the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is a destination unlike any other. In fact, the Eastern Seaboard offers quality terrain for skiers of all levels. Though a handful of big names tend to dominate the conversation, skiers willing to venture beyond the usual suspects will find true gems.
