The inaugural Arrival art fair began in North Adams, Massachusetts, featuring 36 exhibitors until June 15. It offers an intimate setting with artworks displayed in hotel rooms and a diverse program of events. Founders, with 60 years inside the art sector, seek to create supportive opportunities for gallerists, noting challenges in the current market. Fairgoers enjoyed an engaging environment filled with art, complemented by panels and off-site activities in local art institutions.
“Right now, for galleries, it's a very hard business,” Chen says. “The margins are tough, and with all the tariffs and the uncertainty, this whole year has been hard for some gallerists. I think that we need to provide more support.”
The fair's founders hope to create a special and intimate experience in the Berkshires for collectors, gallerists, and art lovers alike, fostering an encouraging atmosphere.
