Barnet's first black mayor was a 'trailblazer' and and 'inspiration'
Agnes Slocombe, the first-ever black mayor of Barnet and a long-serving Hendon church minister, passed away at age 90 after a remarkable public service career.
"I feel like I've got a lot to bring," Hawkins told Barnet's website. "I've still got a lot to prove after my last two seasons when I was probably quieter than I should have been."
