Millennium, a pioneering vegan restaurant, is closing after 31 years due to rising costs and changing diner preferences.
Social media was full of posts revealing shock and horror as one of the area's biggest names in hot dogs quickly closed with no warning. Some who dismissed the news as a poorly crafted April Fools prank soon came to realize that this was no joke after seeing the empty kitchen and counter.
"Rather than a traditional theatre, we are creating a garden of earthly delights. Empyrean is a place of ecstasy, artistry and real interpersonal connection. When the curtain falls, the night has just begun."
The first clue could be if the server brings your check without it being requested. That's certainly a sign that the staff considers your meal done and isn't expecting (or perhaps wanting) you to order anything else.
Don't be intimidated by fresh mushrooms. They are prized for their flavor and versatility. Look for firm mushrooms that are free of soft spots or mold. Wash them just before using them but be sure to store them unwashed. Never submerge in water to wash them because mushrooms absorb like a sponge and become mushy. Wipe with moist paper towels.
