Eaglecrest Ski Area, located just a 15-minute drive from downtown Juneau, spans 640 acres with a 1,620-foot vertical drop, offering a community-focused skiing experience.

Mangrove Lithium CEO Saad Dara described the facility as a 'clown building,' emphasizing its unexpected location and extensive operations. He noted, 'It just keeps going,' while showcasing the research and development lab.

"They want us to show these gringo companies where the minerals are and then go and hand over everything, all without a fuss. That's concerning, because where does it leave us, as Mexicans? Basically, they are going to keep stealing from us."

"This is truly one of the most iconic landscapes in America," said Chance Wilcox, California desert program manager for the National Parks Conservation Assn., as he stood atop a rocky slope within the project footprint.

The grand château-style resort sits at the base of the 40-passenger aerial tram, the most direct way of accessing the ski area's notoriously steep and deep terrain; Alyeska has beginner areas, but it's great for intermediate and advanced skiers. Across more than 1,600 skiable acres are 76 named trails, among them the North Face, North America's longest continuous double-black-diamond ski run.

Recently, Anchorage, Alaska's largest city with nearly 400,000 residents, has just recorded its snowiest January on record. Tucked in between the mighty Cook Inlet and pushed right up against the Chugach Mountains, Anchorage sits in prime location for some serious snow totals. Moisture from pacific storms builds up over the inlet, and thanks to orographic lift caused by the mountains, forces that moisture to drop over Anchorage. Thanks to Alaska's northernly location, that moisture often falls in the form of snow.

Change Of Plans... Due to unsafe conditions on the upper mountain, lift operations will be limited to Chair 7 and the Bear Cub Quad today from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The Tram will remain open for foot passengers only with a 2:30pm final upload and 3:00pm final download. Then, the Tram will reopen for Seven Glaciers service at 4:30pm, with possible weather delays. Mexico's Attorney General's Office said on Monday that authorities have identified five bodies found at a property in El Verde, a rural locality in the state of Sinaloa, and are working to identify the remains of five other people. It is important to note that prosecutorial authorities have remained in contact with the victims' relatives, the office said in a statement. In the cases where the bodies have already been identified, they will be transferred to the states of Zacatecas in two cases, as well as to Chihuahua, Sonora, and Guerrero, it added.
