We created Earth in Action to provide a lens into what's happening on our planet, as it happens. Whether it's something typical, like the current air temperature, or an extreme event like a major dust storm, we wanted to provide an opportunity for people to see them.
Meaningful climate action cannot happen in a silo. It requires a concerted effort across the entire value chain. By working closely with our partners, we ensure our shared commitment to sustainable ad tech translates into real, measurable impact. This SBTi validation is a testament to that collaboration and perfectly aligns with our core guiding principles: absolute accountability and transparency.
In the past, roof inspections mostly focused on what could be seen from the outside. Contractors looked for broken shingles, worn flashing, or areas where water might enter the roof. The problem is that roof damage does not always show clear signs right away. Water can move through roofing layers before it becomes visible inside the home.
Just seven new petrol cars were sold in Norway last month, data shows. The country, which is the frontrunner in the uptake of electric vehicles, shifted a record low number of new fossil-fuel cars in January, information from the Norwegian Road Traffic Information Council (OFV) reveals. Only seven petrol, 29 hybrid and 98 diesel cars were registered, while more than 2,000 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) were sold.
MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) systems are designed to continuously replace stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air while recovering heat that would otherwise be lost. In commercial and residential buildings, this technology provides several important advantages. First, it allows buildings to remain energy efficient without sacrificing airflow.
I was that person who only changed their HVAC filter when it looked like it had grown its own ecosystem. Richie Drew, Vice President of Operations at One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning, puts it bluntly: "Dirty filters can reduce airflow, increase dust in your home and strain your heating system." Think about it this way: your HVAC filter is like the bouncer at an exclusive club, except instead of keeping out people without the right shoes, it's blocking dust particles from circulating through your home.
It looks like ordinary paint, but a new coating called Lilypad Paint has a hidden ability to pull moisture out of the air. It works like a dehumidifier, without the energy use. If it's on the wall in your bathroom, it can suck water vapor out of the air after you've taken a shower. The paint holds the humidity in nano-size pores, and then slowly releases it as humidity levels fall in the room.
In fact, Stawicki was on a mission to save the lives of around 1,000 zebrafish ( Danio rerio) in her laboratory. Similarities between lines of hair cells on the fish's flanks and those in the mammalian inner ear enable her to use them as a model to study hearing problems in humans caused by some antibiotics and chemotherapy drugs. A sensor had picked up that the lab's heating system had been knocked out by a power fault.
One thing that stood out was the home environment. This was the largest contributor to children's daily particle pollution exposure more than school or commuting. This was mainly due to indoor sources such as wood burning and indoor smoking. Short peaks in particle pollution were linked to home cooking and secondhand tobacco smoke. Home heating with a fire or stove was linked to longer exposures. In some cases, these persisted overnight in children's bedrooms as fires remained lit or smouldering with poor ventilation.
Airova is recalling 191,390 Aroeve air purifiers over concerns they could "overheat and ignite, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers," according to a recent notice from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Airova received 37 reports of the air purifiers overheating-including one incident that resulted in a fire-however, there have been no reports of injuries or property damage. The CPSC notice said the popular air purifiers sold online at Amazon, Shopify, Temu and TikTok Shop from September 2024 through June 2025.
