A 51-year-old man was banned from flying abroad after causing disturbances on a US-to-London flight, including threats and being restrained.
About halfway through AA flight 2470's journey on September 16, Dilone left her seat and began "walking down the aisle and yelling," the probable cause affidavit states. At the same time, Dilone was "continually recording the entire aircraft," it alleges. When asked to stop filming, Dilone became enraged and "started to verbally threaten multiple flight attendants," who notified the captain and co-pilot, the affidavit goes on.
Down with reclining seats in airplanes! Or, more to the point, up with them. Please sit up straight and pay attention while I make this very serious in-flight announcement: the airline industry should prevent all seats in basic economy from reclining until the general public has shown they know how to use them responsibly. And by use them responsibly I mean: don't recline. Or, if you must, do so courteously and not for the entire flight.
