Residents and councillors successfully campaigned against the proposed Sphere in Stratford, east London due to concerns about light pollution and disruption to local people and wildlife.
MSG Entertainment, the developer of the Sphere, did little to alleviate residents' concerns and even offered blackout blinds as a solution.
People from across the political spectrum voiced their concern and Michael Gove issued a holding directive earlier this year to slow down the project's progress. [ more ]
