1 week agoConfirmed: Prototype Fox 32" Fork Spotted at Sea Otter
New 32" mountain bike tires, wheels, and frames are emerging, with a rideable Fox 34 SL 32" fork spotted on an Ari prototype.
The 32" tire started with a simple concept. Can it make top level XC racers faster in a real race situation? Our short tests have been pretty inconclusive. From what we've heard, it feels a tiny bit slower, yet it is incrementally quicker. That's great for an elite racer, but less so for my relatively slow rides.
While much of the discussion surrounding the 32" wheel size has centered around cross-country bikes and XCO World Cup racing, gravel bikes seem like one of the best and most obvious applications. But as far as we can tell, 32" gravel tires are even more rare, with most of the big-wheeled gravel bikes we've seen relying on the aforementioned mountain bike models.
