It's rare for multiple franchise pass rushers to hit the market, but next week's free agent pool will include some big fish like Trey Hendrickson, Jaelan Phillips, and Odafe Oweh. Add in what draft experts expect to be a deep and potentially fruitful 2026 class, and the Patriots should have options to fill one of their biggest roster needs.

A recent source told them the former Patriot is "[LaFleur's] guy". The connection between LaFleur and Jimmy G is obvious. The QB has spent the last two seasons as Matt Stafford's backup, and while Brissett is a viable bridge option, the opportunity to cash him in for a few Day 3 picks to improve their cache of draft picks ahead of a rebuild seems a reasonable course of action.

The New England Patriots have one of the youngest cores in football, headlined by 2025 Pro Bowlers Drake Maye and Christian Gonzalez. Their rookie class has been a huge reason for their success, and they have the chance to add to their squad even further through the upcoming draft. There's still plenty of time until they'll have their focus on selecting the next young crop of players, but they are no doubt excited about the prospect of continuing to add to their current group.
