Despite wanting to be moved, Jennings is still a member of their roster ahead of Week 1. The 28-year-old was seeking a long-term contract extension from San Francisco. Jennings was not signed to an extension ahead of the 2025 season. However, ESPN's Adam Schefter did report a revised deal for the WR. Jauan Jennings and the 49ers agreed on a deal that will add $3 million in play-time incentives to his contract. Instead of $7.5 million, Jennings can earn up to $10.5 million in 2025.
MYLES GARRETT WALKED up to the dais in the Cleveland Browns' media room on March 14, wearing an all-brown suit -- a color that just weeks before seemed unlikely he'd ever wear again. Colorful dinosaur figurines adorned the ledge in front of the star defensive end. Cupcakes, decorated with an animated caricature of Garrett sitting on a dinosaur, greeted the media, Garrett's representatives and family, and Cleveland's top decision-makers as they entered the room in a state of excitement mixed with great relief.
After missing the playoffs last season, the 49ers underwent a massive roster overhaul, creating more competition than it has had for spots on the depth chart than at any point in the past six years. While the stars -- tight end George Kittle, offensive tackle Trent Williams, running back Christian McCaffrey, defensive end Nick Bosa and linebacker Fred Warner -- remain, much of San Francisco's success this season will hinge on how some of the unfamiliar names come along.
