Where To Find Gold In Subnautica 2
Gold is a difficult mineral to obtain because it is not found as a random deposit. Access to the area containing Gold requires progressing the game until the high-temperature biome on Proteus becomes reachable. The biome lies about 300 meters east of the starting lifepod. Early travel triggers a heat warning and indicates an adaptation is needed. The Heat Tolerance Adaptation enables safe entry, obtained by curing and interacting with a specific Angel Comb. Even with Heat Tolerance, thermal vents should be avoided because protection only covers temperatures up to around 100°C. Gold ore appears as single deposits on orange and brown rocks throughout the high-temperature biome.

When you acquire Heat Tolerance, which is one of three distinct Adaptations in Subnautica 2, you can safely enter the high-temperature waters east of the lifepod."
"You'll still want to avoid the thermal vents, though, as your new tolerance only protects you up to around 100 degrees Celsius. Luckily for you, finding Gold doesn't require you to go too near the thermal vents. Instead, you can easily find Gold all around the high-temperature biome. There are single deposits of Gold ore sitting on the orange and brown rocks scattered arou"
