In the second half of last year, the digital divide narrowed as Starlink's low-earth orbiting service improved broadband access. In 43 states, the gap between urban and rural users with access to 100/20 Mbps speeds decreased. Connecticut, New Jersey, and Delaware ranked highest for broadband access. Montana showed the most significant annual improvement. Nebraska had the highest percentage of Starlink users meeting the minimum speed. Predictions indicate continued broadband expansion in 2026 as the BEAD Program moves to construction.
