How to force Google AI Overviews to prioritize your favorite news sources
Google’s Preferred Sources feature has been expanded to support AI-powered searches through AI Overviews and AI Mode. Preferred Sources lets users add trusted websites so those sites appear more prominently among search results. Previously, the feature applied to regular Google searches, Discover mode, and Google News Top Stories. With the update, preferred sites are more likely to show up regardless of how a search is conducted, including when AI generates responses. Preferred Sources links in AI responses are clearly labeled to stand out, similar to how they appear in Top Stories. Selecting favorite sources helps users find familiar publishers and helps those sites receive more visibility.
