According to a new Horowitz Research report, 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) adoption is on the rise, with 56% of non-subscribers likely to consider it. FWA penetration reached 12% in 2023, a significant increase. Younger consumers aged 18-34 show the highest adoption rates. Satisfaction levels are encouraging, with 76% of FWA users satisfied with speed and 83% with reliability, comparable to traditional internet services. This suggests strong consumer confidence in FWA technology, despite initial assumptions about its impact on different income groups.
What we are seeing in the marketplace is that indeed, consumers are bullish about 5G, and those who have it are very satisfied with the service.
The fact that it is wireless within the home allows consumers to situate the gateway where they get the strongest signal in the home, which helps with reliability.
