Tour a 1790s Dublin Home With a Lush Garden and Views of the Irish Sea
Briefly

Suzie Mc Adam, a Dublin designer known for her elegant restorations, unexpectedly fell in love with a nearby 6,000-square-foot Georgian house post-completion of her prior home. Built in the 1790s, it boasted original features and a stunning garden. Recognizing its historic charm and the opportunity to create a special space, she was captivated. With minimal remodeling over the years, Mc Adam embraced the property's potential while focusing on reviving its interiors, showcasing her unique blend of grandeur and playful design.
A real estate agent friend of mine brought me to see it, potentially for a client. But as soon as I walked through the door, I called my husband and said, 'We need to figure out a way to get this property.'
In the 1800s, residents of Dublin's Georgian squares would come here in their carriages to spend the day by the sea.
None of the original plasterwork, fireplaces, or floorboards had been touched. Even better, the previous owners had already addressed the house's more pressing structural concerns, leaving me free to focus on reviving its interiors.
Compared to my studio work, this house is far more expressive.
