Suppose Design Office has unveiled the NOT A HOTEL Toji complex, a boutique guest house situated in Minakami, Japan, that embraces its mountain environment. Comprising five villas and a restaurant, the design captures the essence of each season through its architecture. The copper-clad structures offer private spaces below and communal areas above, facilitating a connection with nature. The design invites guests to experience the beauty of the shifting landscape while showcasing a modern interpretation of traditional Japanese mountain huts.
The project's design embodies the dialogue between architecture and nature, inviting guests to experience the beauty of each season seamlessly integrated into the landscape.
Each villa’s copper-clad exterior reflects the natural environment, enhancing the experience of the traditional Japanese mountain hut while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic.
