Habitar el Río is a pavilion by Erazo Pugliese that revitalizes the urban riverfront of the Ebro River in Logroño, Spain. It serves as a space for rest, observation, and social exchange, designed for the Concéntrico 2025 festival. The structure connects an unused dock with the river, promoting ecological awareness. Its design includes features for shading and ventilation that adapt to the environment. Built collaboratively with architecture students, it reflects community needs and responds to the natural landscape while reclaiming a previously overlooked space.
Habitar el Río creates a shaded pavilion for rest, observation, and exchange, transforming a neglected area into a site for ecological awareness and community.
The pavilion adapts to its environment with a southern facade for river views, while plywood panels on the northern side ensure ventilation and comfort.
The design reveals possibilities in public space, reclaiming a once-used bathing area into a collective environment for social rituals and interaction.
Constructed with architecture students, the pavilion combined prefabrication and on-site assembly and adapted to existing site usage, adding features like benches for canoeists.
