Rome's Colosseum got a revamp to reveal a long-hidden history
""The perimeter of Colosseum was not clear. The emperor used to enter from that side. So it's very important.""
""When you step on the crepidine, you have the feeling of being inside the monument, because what you are walking on, the ground is exactly the same as it was.""
The southern side of the Colosseum in Rome has been restored to reflect its original layout, enhancing the visitor experience. This restoration includes the rebuilding of the plaza-like crepidine and the original ground levels of the outer arcades. The project, led by Stefano Boeri Interiors and the Parco Archeologico del Colosseo, is based on extensive archaeological research. The new paving allows visitors to experience the entrance as Roman emperors did, providing a clearer understanding of the monument's historical significance.
