Omloop Farmhouse / he! architectuur
Briefly

Marc and Ann’s renovation of their farmhouse in Pajottenland is driven by a desire to reconnect with nature and create a sustainable living space. Tasked with the project, the architects at Hé! recognized the potential of typical Flemish 'fermette' homes. By critically analyzing the existing layout, they introduced a winter garden bordered by a rammed earth wall, enhancing both thermal efficiency and aesthetic appeal. This transformation has revitalized the home, turning traditional spaces into inviting areas that foster warmth, connection, and sustainability.
The architects approached the renovation by critically analyzing the home’s existing disconnection from nature, focusing on densification and creating spaces that enhance warmth and comfort.
In seeking to restore the emotional connection to their dwelling, the renovation proposed a balance between compact living and the natural surroundings, enriching the family’s experience.
