"I stayed in the neighbouring bedroom, all dark and moody with a striking graphite freestanding bathtub. I didn't get a chance to use the tub, but I did love showering under the glass ceiling in the ensuite, and stargazing from bed via the large electric Velux windows, smartly fitted with blackout blinds to allow for morning lie-ins."

"The real showstopper though is the children's dorm room. There are six very large bunk beds (teens will comfortably fit), although our children didn't get much sleep the first night. It's hard to have calm time when there's a climbing wall to contend with, along with a three-storey cubby house, a fireman pole and even a swing."

"As if that wasn't enough, the room is also kitted out with toys, books, smart TV and an Xbox. When the kids weren't climbing the walls and swinging from the ceiling in their room, they were happily kicking a ball and running with our dogs (the house allows for two well behaved pooch guests) on the lawn out in the garden, which backs onto ancient woodland, so it's wonderfully private."
