On May 16, MTA officials toured the nearly finished $393 million Rockaway Line Resiliency and Rehabilitation Project, designed to enhance the subway system's climate resilience post-Superstorm Sandy. Serving 10,000 daily riders and designed to better connect the Rockaway Peninsula residents to Queens, the project involves significant upgrades, including the full replacement of a viaduct and improvements to the existing aging infrastructure. With major updates focused on safety and reliability, the project aims to be ready before the busy Memorial Day weekend.

We're intervening proactively... instead of waiting for the next disaster to strike.
