Kung Office Building / Seilerlinhart
Briefly

Küng Holzbau has focused on solid wood construction for a decade, creating the "Holzpur" system with solid wall parts made from seven layers of boards. These boards are crafted from "moon wood", which is harvested around Christmas during the new moon to reduce water content. This results in less wood shrinkage and lower pest infestation risk. Their new headquarters not only addresses space requirements but also serves as a demonstration of their solid wood construction philosophy, designed in collaboration with Seiler Linhart architects.
"Holzpur" (Pure Wood) system uses solid, 20 cm thick wall parts made from seven layers of boards, crafted from "moon wood" for optimal durability and aesthetics.
The use of "moon wood", harvested during a specific lunar phase, minimizes water content in trees, resulting in reduced shrinkage and lower risk of insect infestation.
