The architects created a unique home in Osaka for two families and their five cats, focusing on connectedness while ensuring privacy. An existing garden features summer orange and fig trees, enhancing the outdoor experience. The design includes sloped ceilings, offset living spaces, and large openings that welcome natural light. Additionally, playful elements like gradient wallpaper and intricate latticework provide character. The home is designed to evolve with time, encouraging growth in both the garden and the family's connection to the space.
The vision was to create a connected home where each space maintains a sense of distance while light and wind reach every corner of the house.
By designing the living spaces on the two floors to be offset from one another, we created distance and a sense of privacy for the two families.
Large openings facing the garden and balcony invite plenty of natural light into the home, ensuring a bright and airy interior.
Playful design elements add character, such as gradient wallpaper, intricate latticework, and a large mirror, creating openness in the space.
