Nina Woodcroft transformed her 1970s clergy house in south Tottenham into an energy-efficient, fossil fuel-free home, utilizing cork insulation panels and underfloor heating. Engaging with neighbors about sustainable home design, she hopes her project inspires others to reconsider material choices in renovations. Rather than opting for an extension, Woodcroft’s motivation was to enhance the existing structure's efficiency. The renovation has garnered award nominations and showcases a successful blend of innovation and community interaction around environmental consciousness in housing.
We are new to the neighbourhood and it has been a really nice way to engage with our new community.
Instead of an extension, we would design a renovation to transform it into an energy-efficient, fossil fuel-free, cosy family home.
