"we were lucky enough to catch the attention of Diane Keaton (she described her enthusiasm as a "serial addiction to Remodelista"). She was one of our first devoted (and most supportive) readers. She blurbed our first book Remodelista: A Manual for the Considered Home and even called me when she got her copy-I can still hear her voice, full of enthusiasm and delight: "HI JULIE! IT'S DIANE! I LOVE THE BOOK!" It was one of the most thrilling calls I've ever received."
"Over the next couple of years, she contributed posts, took us to dinner in SF and LA, and introduced us to others in her circle. Were we starstruck and flattered? Yes, and thoroughly charmed by her brio, her distinctive and seemingly fearless approach to life and design and fashion. Her imprimatur meant everything to us in those early days of the web; to be recognized by someone we endlessly respected and adored? It was breathtaking."
Diane Keaton was a multi-hyphenate: designer, singer, dancer, actor, and gifted writer. She became an early, devoted supporter of Remodelista and described herself as having a "serial addiction to Remodelista." She blurbed Remodelista's first book, Remodelista: A Manual for the Considered Home, and called Julie to express enthusiastic delight. Over the following years she contributed posts, hosted dinners in San Francisco and Los Angeles, and introduced Remodelista to others in her circle. Her spirited, seemingly fearless approach to life, design, and fashion charmed the team. Her death prompted shock and deep sadness, and several of her Remodelista posts are listed.
