Design by Jack Lovel + 22 Architects (MGAO) rebuilt a mid-century house in Anglesea with integrity, preserving its original character while improving performance. The project delivers a three-bedroom, two-bathroom layout on a 200 m area, replacing poorly insulated and awkward add-ons with higher-quality reconstructed sections. The approach emphasized sensitive rebuilding rather than full demolition, retaining the soul of mid-century origins and upgrading insulation and construction quality. Manufacturers specified include Alspec and Laminex. Photographs were taken by Jack Lovel. The project completed in 2024. The brief focused on practicality and livability for contemporary use while respecting original proportions and materials.
