Hornchurch pub reopens with revamped beer garden after six-figure makeover

The Good Intent pub in Hornchurch has reopened after a significant refurbishment lasting over two weeks. The renovation included a modernized interior, updated furniture and decor, and an enhanced outdoor area with 70 additional seats. General manager Claire O'Mahony described the refurbishment as a "new lease of life" for the establishment. The pub also donated to the local 2nd Elm Park Scouts as part of its community support. The changes mark the first major update since 2014, with the reopening event celebrated by local officials.
The Good Intent, in South End Road, reopened to the public on Friday (July 11) following a six-figure makeover, featuring a modernized interior and updated decor.
Claire O'Mahony, general manager, called the refurb a "new lease of life" for the boozer, aiming to showcase their transformation to local customers.
The pub now has extra outdoor seating with 70 additional seats and an upgraded menu, providing a diverse offering for patrons.
To mark the reopening, Cllr Barry Mugglestone, cabinet member for environment and deputy mayor of Havering, was invited to cut the ribbon.
