Kait Kash undertook a significant renovation of her living room to create a warm and cozy atmosphere. The original space, despite having built-in bookcases and a fireplace, was not functional due to poorly constructed shelves and drafty insulation. The project included repairing and repurposing the existing elements with better materials and finishes, such as new paint and a mantel for the fireplace, leading to a cohesive and inviting environment. Kait emphasizes the importance of thorough planning and proper drying time for paint when implementing design changes.
The fireplace wall was very empty before, and by revamping it with new shelves and a mantel, we achieved the polished look I envisioned.
Our favorite tool is now a nail gun, which helped us properly repair the shelving for weight support and finish the project.
