Owners of Michelin-starred SingleThread to open bed-and-breakfast in Healdsburg
"Kyle and Katina Connaughton, co-owners of SingleThread, a three- Michelin-starred restaurant and inn in Healdsburg, are expanding their hospitality enterprise. The couple is underway with a complete renovation of the former River Belle Inn, a 10-guestroom property that will become a bed-and-breakfast, according to a recent announcement. The Selvedge, A SingleThread Inn, is set to open late next year. The Selvedge is the latest hospitality concept for SingleThread and Vertice Hospitality Management, led by co-owner and CEO Tony Greenberg, and the Connaughtons."
"Taking its name from the world of textiles and in keeping with the SingleThread brand, a selvedge is the finished edge of a garment that keeps it from unraveling and fraying, which represents "integrity and intention made tangible," according to the release. "(The Selvedge) continues our mission to foster deeper and more meaningful relationships with our guests, the local community, our team and wider global agricultural, culinary and hospitality communities," said Greenberg, who also developed and co-owns SingleThread Farms."
"Vertice purchased the River Belle Inn property in 2022 for $7.25 million, according to the Press Democrat. A renovation plan wasn't in the works at the time. "The 68 Front St. address (of the former River Belle Inn) has a storied lineage, and the property is idyllically perched on the gorgeous banks of the Russian River," Greenberg added. The River Belle Inn was a Healdsburg mansion first built in 1895 as the home of American wine industry pioneer Isabelle Simi Haigh,"
SingleThread owners Kyle and Katina Connaughton are converting the former River Belle Inn into The Selvedge, a 10-guestroom bed-and-breakfast scheduled to open late next year. Vertice Hospitality Management purchased the property in 2022 for $7.25 million and is undertaking a full renovation. Kyle will serve as chief culinary officer and Katina as chief agricultural officer, with Vertice CEO Tony Greenberg leading management efforts. The Selvedge name references textiles; a selvedge is the finished edge of a garment representing integrity and intention. The project will retain Victorian-style architecture and preserve portions of the property's historic 1895 fabric and riverside setting.
