"I'm calling it my Blue Jean Baby,"
"I decided to completely redo my kitchen, and it's been a really emotional experience. This house has been so hard for me to change. It holds so many memories."
"I kind of didn't want to change it too much because it was so personal to me. So I did my version of my mom's kitchen,"
Kate Hudson remodeled her childhood kitchen while preserving the original blue-and-white motif and updating the space with a refreshed aesthetic. She selected a blue-veined natural stone for both the countertops and the backsplash, intentionally making the countertops the principal 'something blue' in the room. The blue stone introduces unexpected color and organic veining, yet maintains a classic, timeless appearance when paired with crisp white cabinets and appliances. The renovation carried strong emotional significance because the house holds many family memories from her upbringing. The design references the original tiles above the stove and evokes her mother’s kitchen, resulting in a distinctive, personal kitchen.
