"The countertops are new, but the couple stuck with the neutral white to go with their fresh blue cabinets from Semihandmade."
"Shiny gold hardware with a vintage aesthetic was added to enhance the overall design of the kitchen."
Sylvia Bermudez and Tim Murray renovated their 100-year-old kitchen, which lacked storage and functionality. They removed an old coal-burning fireplace and replaced it with a wall of white IKEA cupboards. This allowed them to eliminate upper cabinets for a modern look, featuring a floating shelf. The couple chose neutral white countertops and blue cabinets, complemented by a dark navy wall. They added shiny gold hardware to create a modern-meets-vintage aesthetic, reflecting the home's historical charm while enhancing its functionality.
