Beauty Creator Toni Bravo Designed Her First Home Without a Mood Board-or a TV
"I knew nothing about interior design,"
"But then you begin to picture what a Sunday would look like in your kitchen or where your friends would hang out-and it all becomes weirdly instinctual."
"Even though I was unsure of how to start, I knew exactly what vibe I wanted,"
"We're always looking to delineate spaces in order to have different experiences within one large space,"
Toni Bravo began her home design guided by a feeling rather than mood boards or fabric swatches. She prioritized comfort, color, and a space that clearly reflected her distinctive style. The 1920s Spanish-style Los Angeles house she purchased in 2024 had lost much of its original charm after multiple owners. Designers Marie Trohman and Ashley Drost of Proem Studio reinjected warmth and narrative by delineating distinct moments within the large layout. Design moves include soft rounded arches, a living area wrapped in large-scale floral Farrow & Ball wallpaper, wood-paneled dining and kitchen walls, and muted terracotta-marble countertops to create layered, convivial spaces.
