A London House Once "Lacked Color" but Is Now a Pattern Lover's Absolute Dream
"The clients had already added a top floor with a third bedroom and bathroom for their young daughter and wanted to fill their house with personality. The interior designers described the initial space as having "much less color" and looking "very dated." However, after adding several patterns through gorgeous wallpaper and soft paint colors like Farrow & Ball's " Setting Plaster," the home was completely transformed."
"One of the designers' favorite rooms that they worked on is the daughter's room. "We wrapped the room in the most beautiful wallpaper from Sanderson and did the curtains in the same pattern to keep the room feeling cohesive and super cozy," the designers explain. "It feels like such a magical world up in this room when you walk in!""
A London couple added a top floor with a third bedroom and bathroom for their young daughter and then hired sisters Caroline and Sarah Stemp of Sascal Studio to redesign the home. The original interior lacked color and looked dated, prompting a makeover focused on wallpaper, layered patterns, and soft paint tones such as Farrow & Ball's Setting Plaster. The redesign prioritized family zoning and personality, with a standout daughter's bedroom featuring Sanderson wallpaper and matching curtains for a cohesive, cozy feel. Room-specific finishes and furnishings include Edward Bulmer Lilac Pink, Howe 36 Bourne Street wallpapers, Zara Home rug, a Ceraudo wood/cane coffee table, a vintage chair, and an IKEA floating desk.
