What (else) do Students Want from Medical Ethics?
Briefly

Instead of the standard approach, I built the course around the problems that healthcare workers encountered on the job, realizing these issues were morally fraught.
Students appreciated learning about situations they might encounter in medicine, and ethical theory provided tools for navigating the problems they cared about.
Exploring real case studies led to uncomfortable, yet valuable conversations about making mistakes and doing the right thing in medical ethics.
By focusing on ordinary issues in healthcare, students deeply engaged with moral theories and their applications to real-world scenarios.
