Forthcoming Sino-Hellenic Network events in March

The Sino-Hellenic Network will host two speaker events in March 2024, supported by the Faculty of Classics at Cambridge University. The events, open to everyone without pre-registration, will take place hybridly, allowing attendance in-person or via Zoom. The first talk on March 6 by Nathan Gilbert from the University of Durham will examine Jesuit Orientalism and Chinese philosophy. The second event on March 20 by Richard King from the University of Bern will delve into ancient Chinese and Greek virtues and roles, both enriching topics fostering cross-cultural academic dialogue.
We're delighted to announce that the Sino-Hellenic Network will host two upcoming speaker events, generously supported by the Faculty of Classics in Cambridge.
All welcome, there is no need to register to attend in person. Zoom sign up information can be found below.
Thursday 6th March, 12.30-14.00 GMT, Nathan Gilbert (University of Durham) will discuss Jesuit Orientalism and Chinese Philosophy, chaired by Lea Cantor.
Thursday 20th March, 11.00-12.30 GMT, Richard King (University of Bern) will explore virtues and roles in ancient China and Greece, chaired by Roel Sterckx.
